Service was slow. Salsa we got was very watered down. If you like cheeses with your Mexican not the place for you. Selfish with the cheese and the portions. Will not visit again

Would def return. Our waiter was pleasant, fast, and helpfull. Good food and a great atmosphere that gave us plenty of room. Not your typical strip mall mexican. A bit pricy and the margaritas were not the best cause they can't serve hard liquor in Sevier county. They made them with wine?

The food was OK but the service was very uneven. Have to agree with the comments about the hostess from other review. The restaurants main failure is lack of trained staff.

No way Jose's is a typical Americanized-Mexican food joint. I came on a Friday night and it was basically dead. The place is big and could very well support quite a few people. Service was not bad, just average. Food? Typical, nothing special in my opinion. One big thing that stuck out to me was the bar. They have the bar seperated from the main restaurant. They are both in the same building, just doors and windows between them are all covered. Our waitress explained some reasoning. They have drink specials at the bar, but food costs more. They have cheaper food in the restaurant, and more expensive drinks. Same company, charging different prices depending on where you sit. This blew my mind, and I will not return. I asked if it was ok to go to the bar to get drinks and come back to the table and was told technically you can but its frowned upon. Better believe I walked over to the bar, ordered the $2 draft at the bar instead of $4 at the table. Talk about some BS!

Although the salsa for the chips was more like a bland pico de gallo, the other food was very good. The drinks (margaritas) were good and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a sit down Mexican restaurant.

My friends and I were told this was a good place for Mexican in Gatlingburg. Unfortunately, those people were wrong. It has a very usual menu for a Mexican place. The salsa has no spice at all. The margaritas are all water and mix without even a hint of tequila. I had the chipotle chicken which actually was good; but my wife's flautas were bland and dry. We went on a Saturday night and the place was near empty, the atmosphere boring. The service was great though since it was so empty; but the overall experience was sub-par. A Mexican place has to have a good stiff drink and a nice salsa to be worthy of higher rating, this place has neither.

Ate at the Pigeon Forge Jose's on a Thursday evening. Was promptly greeted by the young host and seated immediately. The host was very friendly and chatted it up the entire time with us. Unfortunately, he attempted to seat us at the worst table in the house, which was only about half filled. Of course we moved a few tables down to where we felt comfortable. The chips and salsa were served quickly, but as others have said, the salsa was runny and not hot enough. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. Our food was awesome and was served promptly. I had the Cancun shrimp burrito, and it was to die for. The ambiance was fun and exciting...we will definitely be back. It is also right next door to Smoky Mountain H-D, which is a big plus for me. It is also connected to a really cool rustic bar. I plan on hitting the Gatlinburg Jose's next time too. It is right on the mountain creek in town.

Ate there two consecutive nights. We've read previous reviews and had a much better experience. Food was delicious. My wife and I are very particular about our Mexican food. When eating you taste every bite, every spice, every ingredient. Exactly what we love. Salsa is on the chunky side, but you know it is fresh. The taste is phenomenal! Service was good on the first night, but on the second night Jason was our server and it couldn't have been better. After placing our order he anticipated every need, we did not have to ask for anything!!!... We met the manager, I wish I remembered her name, but she stayed on the floor checking on guests, checking with staff. A true quality manager! Will be back for sure!

Typical American Mexican food. The good - Prices and food were pretty good. Place was clean and you get plenty of food for your entree. The bad - You only get one bowl of salsa and chips. After that, you pay. I have been to tons of Mexican restaurants and all offer unlimited salsa and chips. Service was also slow. If you check in on Facebook and tag two friends with you, you get 10% off an entree. I did and told the waitress. She said she would take care of it but, didn't. So, I took it out of her tip (only a dollar anyway). Overall, OK place.
